Goshen High School
Goshen Local Schools will honor long-time coach and staff member George Rise by naming the high school football field in his honor on Friday, Sept. 19.
The Goshen Education Foundation recently raised more than $30,000 to create George Rise Field at Jim Brown Stadium. All funds were either donated to the Education Foundation or raised through the sale of special T-shirts. Rise's contributions to the community include his roles as a teacher, coach, assistant principal, principal, and member of the Board of Education in Goshen.
Rise will be honored in a pre-game ceremony prior to the start of the annual King of the Road game between the Goshen Warriors and Blanchester on Friday, Sept. 19. Gates open at 5:15 p.m. and ceremony begins at 6:30 p.m. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
